Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Parlay Tourney
Getting Started
What is Parlay Tourney?
Parlay Tourney is a user-vs-user sports picks tournament platform where players compete based on their selections, scoring, and tournament rules. Make picks across supported sports and compete for PT coin prizes. Eligible PT balances can be used for tournament entries or withdrawn through authorized withdrawal processes for verified accounts.
How do I sign up?
Click the "Sign Up" button in the top right corner, enter your email and create a password. You'll then be able to browse tournaments and start playing immediately.
Is Parlay Tourney legal?
Parlay Tourney is designed as a user-vs-user sports picks contest platform, not as house-banked wagering. Availability depends on applicable law and your location. You are responsible for confirming that participation is permitted where you are located, and we may restrict access where required.
What sports are available?
Parlay Tourney offers tournaments for NBA (Basketball), NFL (Football), MLB (Baseball), NHL (Hockey), and Soccer. New sports and leagues are added regularly based on the season and user demand.
Tournaments & Entry
How do I enter a tournament?
Browse the tournament lobby, select a tournament that interests you, make your picks for each game, review your entry, and submit. You'll need sufficient Parlay Tourney Points (PT) to cover the entry fee.
What are Parlay Tourney Points (PT)?
PT coins are the virtual currency used on Parlay Tourney for tournament entry fees and prizes. You can add PT to your account through supported deposit methods. Eligible PT balances may be withdrawn through supported withdrawal methods after KYC verification, minimum thresholds, review, and any applicable holds.
Can I enter multiple times?
Some tournaments allow multiple entries (multi-entry), while others are single-entry only. Check the tournament details before entering. Multi-entry tournaments let you submit different pick combinations to maximize your strategy.
When do tournaments close?
Most tournaments lock when the first game starts. Some tournaments allow late entry for a limited time after they start (shown with a "LATE ENTRY" badge). Once the late entry window closes, no new entries are accepted. Make sure to check the tournament details for entry deadlines!
Can I edit my picks after submitting?
No, once you submit your entry, your picks are final and cannot be edited. Please review your selections carefully before submitting!
What are the different market types and which combinations can I pick?
Tournaments may offer multiple market types:
- **Moneyline**: Pick the winner of the game
- **Point Spread**: Pick a team to cover the point spread
- **Totals (Over/Under)**: Pick whether the total score goes over or under a line
- **Player Props**: Pick over/under outcomes for supported player statistics when enabled
Some tournaments allow multiple markets from the same game, but duplicate selections and highly correlated combinations are restricted. For example, you generally cannot select both sides of the same market, combine a team's moneyline with that same team's spread, or submit combinations our correlation controls flag as too closely related. The tournament detail page and in-entry validation are the source of truth for allowed markets and combinations.
Scoring & Points
How does scoring work?
Our system uses a weighted scoring model to reward skill and difficulty:
• **Moneyline**: 1.0 point
• **Over/Under (Totals)**: 2.0 points
• **Player Props**: 2.0 points
• **Point Spread**: 2.5 points
The more difficult the pick, the more points you earn. Your total score is the sum of points from all your winning and pushing picks.
What happens if a game is postponed?
If a game is postponed, cancelled, suspended, or affected by a data issue, the result is handled under the tournament rules and official data available to us. Affected picks may be scored, cancelled, voided, or reviewed by an administrator depending on timing, official league treatment, and platform integrity requirements.
What if there's a tie/push?
If a pick results in a push (e.g., a game lands exactly on the spread or total), you earn **0.5 points**. This is better than a loss (0 points) but less than a win. This keeps your entry alive even when a game is perfectly balanced.
What happens if there's a tie in points?
Tournament ties are resolved using the tie-breaker rules configured for that tournament. Common methods include closest score prediction, secondary tie-breakers, earliest entry, deterministic random order, or split prizes. Check the tournament details for the rules that apply before entering.
Prizes & Payouts
How do payouts work?
Each tournament has its own prize structure. Some pay top 3 only, others pay top 10, 20%, or even winner-takes-all. Payouts are distributed based on your final rank, with first place winning the largest share. Check each tournament's prize breakdown to see how many positions get paid and the exact payout amounts.
When do I get paid?
Payouts are processed after all selected games and props are final, all legs are graded, the official-score correction window has closed, and tournament grading is locked. If a correction, dispute, data issue, fraud review, or integrity concern occurs, payout timing may be delayed.
What is the rake/fee?
The rake is the platform fee taken from the prize pool, which varies by tournament. Most tournaments have a 20% to 25% rake. Some guaranteed tournaments may have different rake structures, and special tournaments may offer reduced or 0% rake. The exact rake percentage and prize pool are always clearly displayed in the tournament details before you enter.
Can I withdraw my winnings?
Yes, eligible PT balances may be withdrawn through supported methods after KYC verification, minimum withdrawal thresholds, available-balance checks, and review. Navigate to your profile, click "Withdraw," and follow the instructions. Processing times are estimates and may vary by method, network conditions, and compliance review.
Are my winnings taxable?
Yes, winnings from skill-based gaming are taxable income in most jurisdictions. We recommend consulting with a tax professional for specific guidance. Parlay Tourney will provide tax documentation for significant winnings as required by law.
Account & Security
How do I deposit funds?
Go to your profile and click "Add Funds." Supported deposit methods are shown in the wallet at checkout. Crypto deposits are processed through our payment provider; other payment methods may be added, removed, or limited by location, provider availability, and compliance review.
Is my personal information safe?
We use technical, administrative, and provider safeguards designed to protect personal and financial information. We share data only as described in our Privacy Policy, including with service providers needed to operate, secure, verify, and process the platform.
What if I forget my password?
Click "Forgot Password" on the login page. We'll send a password reset link to your registered email address. Follow the link to create a new password and regain access to your account.
How do I verify my account?
For security and compliance, we may require identity verification (KYC) before your first withdrawal. Go to your profile, click "Verify Identity," and upload a government-issued ID. Verification typically takes 1-2 business days.
Leaderboard & Rankings
How are tournament rankings calculated?
Rankings are based on your **Total Weighted Points**. Spreads are worth 2.5 pts, Totals/Props are 2.0 pts, and Moneylines are 1.0 pt. If points are tied, the tournament's configured tie-breaker rules decide ranking or prize splitting. Leaderboards may update as games are scored and may change during official-score correction or regrade windows.
What is the Global Leaderboard?
The Global Leaderboard ranks the best players across all tournaments. You can sort by total winnings (default), tournaments won, win percentage, or ITM percentage (in-the-money rate). Compete to reach #1 and earn bragging rights as the best Parlay Tourney player!
How many positions get paid in a tournament?
It depends on the tournament! Each tournament displays its payout structure. Some tournaments pay only the top 3, others pay top 10 or a percentage of all entries (like top 20%). Winner-takes-all tournaments pay only 1st place. Always check the tournament details before entering to see how many positions get paid.
